Warren Alani

Last night 22nd April Duston Camera Club welcomed Warren Alani with a fantastic talk “Capturing the Imagination”

Warren is a photographer based in Northamptonshire. He picked up his first camera as a teenager – a Zenit ET 35mm SLR. This was where his obsession with photography began. In 2009, Warren decided to turn his pastime into something bigger. Taking the knowledge and skills he learned during his youth, he immersed himself in the new age of cutting-edge technology and turned his hobby into craft. In just a few short years, Warren has cultivated a clear artistic direction and a distinctive style in his work. His photography particularly focuses on sports, portraiture, architecture and travel, as well as street-style snapshots taken on the spur of the moment. His acute attention to detail has earned him recognition from national and international bodies such as The Royal Photographic Society and the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique FIAB. Warren has also been awarded an honours distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, as well as having his work displayed around the world at the Masters Of Print exhibition (for six consecutive years), in the revered London Salon of Photography, and at his own exhibitions in the U.K. and in Europe. In 2022, Warren was awarded the FIAP Blue Pin for Most Acceptances at the world-famous Edinburgh Photographic Society’s international exhibition. His work has been featured in many prominent photography publications such as the International Digital Camera magazine and The Royal Photographic Society Travel Year Book, amongst many others. In recent years, Warren has become a highly engaged member of the photography community, and a proud member of the Smethwick Photographic Society. When he’s not chasing the perfect exposure, you can find him regularly presenting talks, workshops and lectures at photography clubs all over the U.K.
